My paintings
are about color, texture, and mark making. I begin with randomly
and intuitively applied paint, layering and scraping,
adding
and subtracting. It’s a process born of questioning and wandering,
as I constantly look to the canvas for direction. Inspiration is gathered
in from my day to day world: an old bowl found poking around a flea
market, a stick on the sidewalk that catches my eye, or birds at our
backyard feeder.
